Watercraft

Efforts should be made to increase the coordination of various lake users. Wakes caused by large boats and ‘boogie boards’ have been noted as a serious concern with respect to shoreline erosion and causing unpleasant conditions on the lake. Further, wake jumping by personal watercraft has been reported as both dangerous and inconsiderate. Concerns are routinely expressed regarding boater behavior, especially the practice of exceeding safe speeds and boating in and around established swimming lanes.

Concerns exist with regard to boat speed, wakes, traffic direction and congestion and are amplified by the number of users. More support is needed for instituting lake surface use ordinances on the lake is necessary.
